Most of our students are from Japan.
INTRODUCTION
We are delighted that you are reading this as it indicates you may be interested in hosting one of our Japanese students in your home. This should be a fun experience introducing both you and the student to different cultures and you will be paid for your efforts. Who knows, you may develop a friendship to renew in Japan one day!
A few things to help you understand what is required.
-
We need your household profile. After receiving this we will schedule a visit to meet and talk through any issues/concerns.
-
Part of the process involves your completion of a "https://wwccheck.ocg.nsw.gov.au/Apply". This can be completed on the internet. The process is easy and we can help you with it if necessary.
We look for the following in our hosts.
-
Friendly, open personalities.
-
Acceptable moral and social values.
-
Clean and tidy accommodation.
-
Reasonable access to public transport.
MANAGING THE RELATIONSHIP
The following guidance points are provided to help you optimise the experience with your student.
-
Always remember that Australia is foreign to them and be patient if they do not get the way things work at first.
-
Please help in the start-up phase with information on public transport. Show them how to get to the local stop and provide timetable data.
-
Encourage them to use English. Do not worry if the conversation is limited by lack of vocabulary, from little acorns mighty oak trees will grow!
-
Educate them about Aussie culture and values.
STUDENT ARRIVAL
Basically School will arrange airport transfer service for students.
A member of the host family must be home on the day of student’s arrival. We’ll try to give you an approximate time.
ACCOMMODATION requirements are

-

-
